Historical Origins
The history of the Pharmacist Dzi bead can be traced back to the period between 2000 and 4000 BC. It was first discovered in regions such as Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan. Name Evolution
In the Tibetan language, the Pharmacist Dzi bead is called “Remi”, which means “sheep’s eye”. It is also known as “Solomonic”, implying “the treasures of Solomon”. In ancient Persia and the Sasanian Dynasty, it was deeply favored by the nobility. In the “Gegu Yaolun” written by Cao Zhao in the 21st year of the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1388 AD), there are records of combined agate and segmented agate. Some people believe that the so-called Pharmacist Dzi bead should actually be called round wire bead, commonly known as “a girdle around the waist like jade”.
Religious Significance
In Tibetan Buddhism, the Pharmacist Dzi bead is regarded as a symbol of the Medicine Buddha. The Medicine Buddha is a Buddha and Bodhisattva in charge of good fortune such as health, longevity, and wealth. Wearing the Pharmacist Dzi bead can be used to pray for physical health, longevity, and good fortune. Concept of Medicinal Value
In Tibetan medicine, Dzi beads are considered to be gemstones with special energy. The Pharmacist Dzi bead is also believed to have the functions of adjusting the body’s energy balance, assisting in treating diseases, and promoting blood circulation.
